The 400-mm Aalto vase is a rare piece. The grand form of the iconic vase has only been made for special occations, and so is the case with this edition also: in 2026, the Aalto form turns 90, and it’s celebrated with this unique piece made with naturally green Finnish sand. The sand is harvested from Karvia, Finland, where the iron in the sand colours the glass green. Mouth-blown into traditional wood moulds by Iittala Glass Factory’s highly skilled artisans, each vase is a pure expression of Finnish glass craftsmanship.
