LJUS is a meeting of two Nordic houses, IITTALA and BYREDO, united by craftsmanship, culture and a belief in the power of everyday ritual. Shaped through glass and animated by flame, the collection transforms everyday moments into rituals of light and scent. The light refractor explores the poetic tension between fire and ice: clarity and warmth, permanence and ephemerality. With a candle lit inside, the pulsing, rhythmic glass shape feels organic and contemporary, emphasising and refracting the flicking light of the flame and the rising warmth. Each refractor is mouth-blown and hand-crafted at the Iittala Glass Factory in Finland. Although attractive and unique as a sculptural piece in its own right, the light refractor truly becomes captivating when paired with light. To get a full sensuous experience, choose a scented candle, such as Byredo’s signature ‘Bibliothèque’, available separately. Designed for Byredo scented candle 240 g.
